Multiple shared IP’s in cPanel/WHM

February 19, 2014 , 1:53 pm

cpanel-WHMThere are certain cases where we need multiple shared IP’s in a server. In this article, I would like to discuss the steps to setup multiple shared IP address in a cPanel server. Please note that this cannot be done from WHM interface. To setup this, you should SSH to your server as root.

1. Create a folder /var/cpanel/mainips/  and add a file with a name root with the IP addresses that you would like to make as shared IP’s.

[root@server ~]#  mkdir /var/cpanel/mainips/

[root@server ~]# vi  /var/cpanel/mainips/root

xx.xx.xx.xx

yy.yy.yy.yy

Save the file and you are done.

xx.xx.xx.xx and yy.yy.yy.yy  should be replaced by the IP address that you want to make as shared IP addresses.
